Miyuki Daorana was born and raised in Qaanaaq and then in Nuuk, Greenland. Of Inuit and Japanese descent, she is from the Inughuit community (inhabitants of Avanersuaq in Northwest Greenland).
As a climate justice activist, she has represented her country at international conventions, conferences, and forums, including the United Nations and the Arctic Circle Assembly.
She completed graduate studies in anthropology and indigenous studies philosophy at the Arctic University of Tromsø.
